If you look to the right hand side here you will see images that say “Distributors for…” These are the only official places where you can get a Mama Pack. Some companies do take packs to festivals, exhibitions and shows but we do not have a list of these as the individual distributors advertise independently.
The packs should not be sold although a handling charge might be added but this is no more than £1, although distributors will need to charge shipping if you are ordering online.
My pack had different samples in to my friends, why?
Some companies chose to sample on a recurring basis and some trial their sampling for just 1,000 packs. Some companies are really good about sending their samples in each sample period and some forget, have staffing issues or have some delay further in the chain with printers etc.
Because of this contents of the packs will vary and there is no guarantee on samples.
I’m exhibiting at a baby show, can I give your packs out instead of making goody bags?
Many companies do already! The effort of sourcing bags, sorting out the printing of your logo on them and then trying to source samples… not to mention getting someone to sit and make up hundreds of goody bags before the event and then thinking about where to store them! Well it is a nightmare too many people face.
What a lot of companies are finding easier is to call us and order Mama Packs. We make up your packs, add your logo and can have them delivered to you up to 2 days before your event is due. Then all you need to do is hand out the packs at your baby show knowing the contents have been approved and checked by us and come from reputable ethically influenced companies.
Can I use the packs as ‘buyer incentives’?
Totally! The main aim of Mama Packs is to educate…. Too many people use products that are harmful to our planet. If even half the people opening our packs decide to swap over to a greener version of a product they use then our work is worth while.
As far as customer incentives are concerned you the business owner use them to encourage spending in your store. The usual method is with free pens, free key rings or discount vouchers.
All of the above will cost you minimum of £1… £1 for a pen that gets shoved in a drawer and never looked at, £1 for a keyring that is thrown away [have YOU ever used a promotional keyring?] or £1 plus off a product you really can’t afford to give a discount on……
If you have a Mama Pack as your buyer incentive then you are giving the customer a box full of gifts not just one ‘chuck-away’ plastic messageless ‘thing’…. Plus you are helping to make the planet a more Earth Aware one!
I’d really like to try this product I have in mind before I buy it, but it’s not in your packs!
Is it something we would consider for the packs? If yes then why not write an email addressed to both admin[@]wahm.co.uk and the company in question and ask us both in the same email why we don’t feature their product…
I really want my packs to be in cotton bags not boxes, is this ok?
Of course it is ok but consider the following ….
The boxes we use are made from sustainably sourced pulp and produced in the uk by a machine. Most parents re-use our boxes to keep baby’s first keepsakes in like umbilical cord, birth notes, first outfit, congratulations cards and more.
We can and have used bags in the past but trying to keep ‘ethical’ is very hard as most companies source their cotton bags from what WE consider non ethical establishments where people work LONG hours sewing bags for a pittance.
Also from research we have found that while 90% of people who get a boxed item will either re-use or recycle boxes only 50% of people will use a branded / logo baring bag for their shopping.
Because of this the bags we use are a lot pricier than the boxes and this puts a lot of distributors off choosing bags. Add to this that some of our products are not suited to being transported in a soft casing eg: Lilipops pregnancy ice lollies.
That all said if you wish your packs to be in bags then please let us know. Cotton bags take around 3 weeks longer to produce and carry around 50% higher charges than the packs.
We would prefer to use cotton bags and are looking into an innovative idea with hard based shell bags….. We just need to find somewhere OTHER than a sweat-shop who makes them and sadly… the UK is the worst place for this thing.
No, absolutely not and any company that has up to date and comprehensive insurance would understand why not too. Insuring a company, it’s employees and any products the company produces is not only very expensive but MUST be adhered to. We are bound by our insurance to make sure our samples are first of all insured by the companies supplying them & safe to use.
We must check all samples and SEAL the packs before they are shipped anywhere to prevent contamination.
If the distributor opens the packs then there is NO insurance or protection for the packs and they are beyond our control. Please let us know if your pack has been compromised.
Please read THIS explanation. The contents of the pack will ALWAYS be from one of our samplers as featured in our spinning advertorial banner at the top of this site. If you find any product not featured there then please let us know as we may have made a boo boo and forgotten to add their logo! or… someone is sneaking unauthorised products in!
I have samples for the packs, how do I get them in?
Lovely! Drop us an email or call us on 01702 441789.
My products are too big / expensive to sample but I want to be involved!
Then you can advertise in our WAHM news magazine which is placed into every Mama Pack free of charge, downloadable or available in hard copy for a £1 fee.
You can find the price list HERE … if you still wish to have leaflets in our packs please note we only accept a few and we charge a LOT more to have them in the packs as we all know… no one wants paper flying out of their Mama Pack so unless it REALLY has to be a message via leaflet then the WAHM news magazine is the best option.
‘Ethically Influenced’ what does that mean?
We are a bit sick of companies riding the ethical bandwagon and stating they are green and crunchy etc yet when you dig…. they really aren’t.
Now while we DO think we are crunchier than an old slice of bread we are aware that we can not and would not guarantee every company we deal with is as this would … well it would be madness.
We hope the companies we have vetted are as they appear and stay so or tell us if they aren’t.
‘Ethically Influenced’ tells all of you that we strive to keep as Earth Aware as we possibly can but that perhaps we had to use sticky tape on a few boxes, wasted a few runs of a print job due to Yzzy the printer being a doofas and that perhaps we missed something… NO ONE is perfect but we try try try to be as ethical as we can and will keep trying until we can say our electricity is run by Rob on his bicycle powered turbo machine and our paper is made from recycled elephant poo!
We sold our car back in 2005 as we realised we were beginning to use the “But it’s too far to walk” excuse and killing our planet with fumes… Four years on and we manage quite well on public transport, kindly friends … walking and our bikes! The whole family cycle everywhere!
Too far to walk is now 20 miles… everything else is walk-cycle-busable… Then there is the train for over 20 miles!
We don’t wash, this saves water and detergent and adds a little bit more insulation to our skin with the layer of grease and dirt, therefore needing less heating in the winter.
Ok perhaps that last one was a lie…. we do wash! Made you look though didn’t it!?
I want to distribute but no way can I hand out more than 2 packs a month, what happens about the best before dates?
That’s ok, we have some doulas & midwives that only have about 30 clients a year. If you let us know then we can arrange a regular delivery to you each month or every 8 weeks. Or we can deliver the full years worth but exclude any short life products. This will mean however that your packs wont have the full range in them so perhaps a regular delivery is better suited.
