Charity Fund Raising

The team and members of Mama Packs are passionate about making positive changes in not only their own local community but across the global community. Just as a Mother and Father may need support and help in your own town, so too do many many parents and children across the world.
This is why in March 2010 we set up our monthly projects where we link together and raise funds to help those people in most need.
Below you will find our projects and a list of thanks accompanying them. If you feel you would like to help in this effort then please feel free to contact us! Or you can join in the chat on the forum regarding fund raising by clicking HERE.

Sponsored Richard

Sponsored Child

You will also see that from March 2006 we have been sponsoring

‘Our’ little boy Richard who lives with his family in Zambia, we are immensely proud of this, if anyone would like to help towards this then again feel free to contact us! Thanks to Michele and Julie who help with his sponsor costs.

New Sponsored Child!

In April 2010 we welcomed a new child into our sponsor family and would like to thank Rowena and Dawn for helping towards her sponsorship. Tithi is 7 years old adn lives with her family in Bangladesh. If you would like to help with either Richard or Tithi then please contact us for details!

By sponsoring these children , we help to bring about long-term benefits to the children, their families and communities. Child sponsorship funds are used with the co-operation and direction of the community to benefit vulnerable children, families and community members, including sponsored children. This work ensures that the community will be able to provide the children with the basics they need, which helps them to grow up in a healthy environment and have the chance for a better future.

Child sponsorship enables us to make a positive and real difference to the life of the children we sponsor within their family and community, and gain an insight into the reality of life in developing countries

May 2010

Well May was a bit hectic but we managed to squeeze in some fund raising!

First off was Race For Life where we managed to raise £145 this year towards Cancer Research UK.

Not having a car meant the girls had to walk from the office to the race and then back again clocking up 17 kilometers in temperatures hitting 28′C !! Standing in the shade ‘cheering’ her Mama, Aunt and Glamma on was Tiger who we hope will toddle the race with us next year!

Our second fund raiser for May is an effort to try and buy at least one water filtration system. As we started this fund raising on the 24th May we have only set our goal for one,

but if we can raise enough for two [£42] then all the better!

Money raised for Race For Life – £145

Water Filters bought – 2 – fund raising just started

April 2010

Our goal for April is to purchase as many mosquito nets as possible to help prevent malaria. Malaria is a debilitating disease and a mosquito net can help save the life of a child who might otherwise get ill from Malaria. This gift will be used in Emergencies to help those who are fleeing disaster . A Simple gift of protection that could keep them healthy and thriving.

Why not help us raise enough to buy at least 10 of these nets? That’s only 20 people donating £3 each! Look what we did in March… we can do this!!

And for those of you reading this who are thinking “What good is a stupid net? I’ll save my £6 thank you!” well that’s ok, but if you want to save your £6… can you please at least spend 2 minutes, 46 seconds watching THIS video before you decide?

Nets Bought: 12

March 2010

Our goal for March 2010 was to raise enough funds to purchase Healthy Birthing Kits for Somalian Mamas! They enable a locally-trained birth attendant to help a woman give birth naturally, safely and hygienically. A kit like this will give a newborn child the best start possible. Each pack costs £24.

Packs bought: 7
