My Mama Pack arrived this morning and I eagerly opened it, not sure what was going to be inside. I was more then pleasantly surprised to find such a varied and usual mix of things!
There was a WAHM News booklet which had insightful articles and some discount codes to use at some lovely WAHM shops which I will definately be browsing and buying from. A sample of Organic muesli, sounds lovely and will be trying first thing tomorrow, a natural grapefruit and tangerine flavoured ice pop which is in the freezer as I type. Two breast pads, sanitary towel and pantyliner from Natracare, which would have been perfect to pop in my maternity bag and they feel so soft. Some Gin Gin, ginger hard candy, a sachet of Weleda baby nappy cream and a sachet of Pregnacare cream. A sample of soap nuts and a little bag to use them in the washing machine, I've been after trying these for a while so cant wait to do a wash! A reusable cloth wipe (can never have too many) which is lovely and soft, a full sized 100ml tube of Beginning nappy change balm, which smells gorgeous! there is also a few leaflets for some of the products in the pack and a child benefit claim pack and some business cards for other WAHM shops.

All in all, the pack is filled with relevant and interesting things which follow the choices I have made in life and its fantastic to read about WAHM sucess stories and helping to support them and to try their products. I would happily give one of these packs to anyone I knew who was expecting a baby, and if given the choice I would happily pick this over any other pregnancy packs that most expectant mums receieve.

Oh my goodness I can't describe the reaction from my partner and myself when we opened the pack. We had the Bounty pack with our sons birth and to be honest were expecting the same in this pack. No way! Thank you to all the companies who sample and a HUGE thank you to Mama Pack for balancing out the ethics and nature side of things. It's a huge breath of fresh air!

I was lucky enough to win the competition in April for a mamapack, which was filled with additional goodies, it was fantastic, the stuff that I guess was in the normal pack included soap nuts, organic tea, porridge and some cookies (which were promtly stolen by my allergy filled son, who was over the moon to find dairy free chocolate chip cookies, he has since demanded that these be found and bought for ever and ever!) I couldn't get over the generosity of the WAHMs in their prizes, Dear Hubby and eldest son have made themselves sick on the chocolate from Rixys wrappers, Youngest son has got his new huggalugs from planet llando (i think) a dragon bid from dragon flair and the softest bum ever thanks to the wipes soap from bibsnbots. I have spent many enjoyable hours looking at the websites of those WAHMs and dreaming of the day I get to soak in the bath with the goodies I have got in the pack, smellies (bibsnbots again) wash cloths and soap (woolywumpkins) and am looking forward to being taken out somewhere nice so that I can wear the lovely necklace from incensed.

I am also spending far too much time looking at the sites so that I can use the discount codes that came in the pack from these lovely mamas, I've already (sort of) ordered the custom soaker that was in the form of a voucher in the pack.

I think this was a far better pack than those which are given out in hospital, anything to promote those mamas who are clever enough to produce these things should be commended, I would like to think that even for those new mums who were not already aware of these mamas that hopefully the booklet and the discount codes would promt them to look at them, I know that over the past year I've spent many an hour looking at websites in the middle of the night, praying that he would go back to sleep over my shoulder!
If it does prompt one more mum into trying some of the products, especially the real nappies and the eco friendly toiletries then this pack is very very worthwhile!

Thank you to all the mamas that gave to this prize

I got one of these last week and I am so pleased with it. Why on earth don't all pregnant women get them? I also got the 'other' pack and my husband looked at both and said "I'm embaressed for ******" which pretty much sums up how I feel too!

I remember the ****** packs from the hospitals after both births, They had tooth paste, tooth brush, jars of baby food ? and formula leaflets and samples, nothing related to Breastfeeding. #

I breastfed both times, so had no intention of using the samples, these packs were so blinkered!

I was lucky enough to win a Mama pack recently, VERY exciting!!

The box duly arrived, well packaged, with an informative WAHM magazine, with contacts and information. also great samples, of yummy porridge, even thoughtful tea bags, attatched to a WAHM discount card, so it made me pop my feet up and take time out to look at the sites. There were some great WAHM's cards, discounts, samples and a few samples from eco companies too.

MAMA packs should be everywhere, such a refreshing change! ban ****** packs!

Well done everyone!

I recieved one of these in June 2008 when they were on sale to the general public. They are a refreshing eco friendly alternative to the other packs given out.

I loved mine as it was filled with useful cards and discounts for things I would actually use/need. Plus it had some fab free samples in.

These packs are definately a must for every mum to be.
